If global warming is not curbed, the most important ecosystems on the planet will perish

An international team of scientists decided to analyze the probable fate of mangroves, tidal marshes and coral reefs in the light of global warming and rising water in the oceans. It turned out that if the global temperature rises by two degrees, more than 1,500 ecosystems in coastal zones will be flooded and destroyed.

The role of mangroves and tidal marshes cannot be overemphasized. They absorb huge amounts of greenhouse gas emissions.
