After analyzing 190 groves, about 500 wetlands and 872 coral reefs, the researchers used computer simulations. If average global temperatures rise by two degrees, the sea will rise at a rate of up to 8 millimeters per year. In this case, the probability of important ecosystems dying would be between 67% and 90%.
The scientific community calls on governments and representatives of international organizations to make every effort to prevent this scenario.
