A group of archaeologists discovered an ancient tomb that contained an outstanding collection of gold artifacts, the historical and cultural significance of which is priceless. It is noted that the tomb was found at the archaeological site of El Caño in Panama, as stated in a press release of the Ministry of Culture of the country.
As noted by the Panamanian Ministry of Culture, the site is home to a large cemetery of the pre-Hispanic Cocle culture, built around 700 A.D. and found abandoned after only 300 years. According to the University of South Florida, the culture existed in the region between 200 BCE and 1550 CE.
